Encouragement Comes In Many Ways...
Workshops Overview
While selecting a session, keep in mind that the grade levels
indicated are a general guideline.
For example, for Grades 4-6, if your student is younger and writing
sentences fairly independently, s/he is welcome to attend.
Conversely, if your student is older and struggles with writing more than a
few sentences, s/he would benefit from the additional coaching. Please feel
free to contact me to discuss any further questions.
Each workshop is designed to be stand-alone, or attended
in any combination. None are sequential.
I implement the 6-Trait Writing approach which complements other writing
programs. The elements of writing are practiced: only the terminology may
differ.
The other major component of my work with students, is the use of
published literature to model and to demonstrate: "What do accomplished
authors include in their writing?"
Every student receives a Writer’s Notebook which is a beneficial, user-
friendly resource. It is used in all of my workshops, and it is a resource
which can augment any commercial writing program.
Students may use provided pencils and paper to construct drafts, or they
can bring from home a tablet or laptop if that is their preferred writing
mode.
